Pour-Over, Made Repeatable

Hikaru pairs Hario’s pour-over brewing system with automated control of water temperature, flow and pouring time. Choose a preset for your morning coffee, or use the Hikaru Brew app to refine a recipe and repeat it.

Control the Details of Your Brew

  • Temperature control: Set brewing water between 80°C and 96°C, with built-in temperature sensing.
  • Adjustable flow: Choose from 10 flow levels. Hikaru’s Variable Turbulent Flow Extraction system lets you tune how water reaches the coffee bed.
  • Built-in scale: Integrated weighing supports controlled, repeatable brewing.
  • Everyday presets: Nine preset combinations cover small, medium and large servings with light, medium and dark roasts. Brew up to three cups at a time.
  • At-a-glance progress: LED lighting shows the brewing stage, and a sound signals when the brew is complete.

How to Brew

  1. Add water, prepare your pour-over dripper with a filter and ground coffee, and place the dripper and server beneath the spout.
  2. Select a recipe on the brewer or in the app, then press Start.
  3. Let Hikaru follow the pouring sequence. Serve when brewing is complete.

The New Hikaru Brew App

More control, less guesswork. Hiroia’s September 2026 app update brings a refreshed interface and new ways to explore your coffee.

  • Live Brew: Adjust each pour’s flow rate and duration in real time. The app records your steps so you can save the finished brew as a recipe.
  • Brew Sequence: Explore recipes with up to 10 continuous pouring stages.
  • Smart Pre-heat: Enable pre-heating in the app. When water drops below 60°C, Hikaru reheats it to 80°C or your selected target temperature.

Before using the new features: Update the app, connect your brewer, and open Settings > Firmware Update. Hiroia requires two update stages: keep the app open and the brewer plugged in; after Stage 1 completes and the brewer powers off, turn it back on, reconnect, and repeat the update for Stage 2. Confirm the version under Settings > Firmware.
