Sweet Core is a blend of two exceptional coffees:

  1. Guatemala Finca La Pia (Washed): This component provides a solid foundation of rich chocolate tones and caramelized sweetness. The washed process brings clarity and balance, allowing the deeper sugar and cocoa notes to shine with a smooth, steady body.

  2. Burundi Washed Red Bourbon: Adding refined brightness and a touch of fruit complexity, this Red Bourbon varietal complements the Guatemalan base beautifully. Its sweet, rounded acidity and subtle stone-fruit lift bring life and dimension to the blend.


Concept & Background

The idea behind Sweet Core was to create an espresso that embodies depth, sweetness, and comfort — the kind of cup that feels like the heart of our daily lineup. In our café, we’ve long loved the smooth chocolate character of Guatemala Finca La Pia, but we wanted to explore how to give it a little more vibrancy and sweetness while keeping that familiar, comforting core.

That’s when we turned to Burundi Red Bourbon. Its natural sweetness and gentle fruit tone added exactly the lift we were looking for — turning a classic espresso into something rounder, sweeter, and more expressive. After several roast trials and endless café tastings, Sweet Core quickly became our go-to espresso on bar. It’s balanced, consistent, and deeply satisfying — an everyday favorite that captures the essence of what we love about coffee.

The combination of these two washed coffees results in a blend that delivers:

Chocolate-meets-sugar sweetness: A deep, satisfying core of cocoa and caramelized sugar.
Balanced fruit lift: Gentle notes of dried fruit and stone fruit add subtle brightness without disrupting the smooth body.
Round, creamy finish: A lush mouthfeel that lingers with warmth and sweetness.
