Barrel Aging Process
Barrel Aging Process
How it works
First, we source green coffee beans from around the world that will compliment the flavor of bourbon — flavor, quality, and variety is at the heart of our proccess.
The proccess begins by selecting American oak barrels and seasoning them with a hand-picked whiskey, often with floral-forward notes that complement the coffee's profile.
Once the barrels are seasoned and dried, they are filled with green coffee beans. They remain in the barrels for a period, absorbing the flavors and aromas of the whiskey and oak.
After relying on his senses to determine the optimal point for removing the beans from the barrels, Leon, our owner and roaster moves onto the roast proccess. He is now sure that the coffee will achieve a balanced infusion of whiskey, oak, and the coffee's own inherent flavors. We ofter a variety of roast levels among our barrel aged coffees, from Dark ++ to Light. Try the beans out for yourself:
At Regent, we are known for our specialty: barrel aging our beans. While you can shop for whole beans, you can also enjoy ready to drink products like our cold brew that have been brewed to our standards.
We take our proccess seriously here at Regent and partner with L.A. Crafted to make sure the quality flavor we taste when we brew at our shop makes its way to you when you purchase from us online. We offer single serve cans of cold brew as well as glass bottled cold brew concentrate.

Nestled in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala, Finca Jauja—pronounced “how‑ha”—lies in the San Cristobal el Bajo aldea. From this family‑owned estate, surrounded by the volcanic majesty of Agua, Acatenango, and the still‑active Fuego, comes a remarkable light‑roast coffee grown at 1,550–1,580 m.a.s.l. on rich volcanic soils.
Old Bourbon trees thrive under partial shade of grevillea and avocado, nurtured by a blend of warm days, cool nights, and refreshing high‑altitude winds—together creating Antigua’s famous micro‑climate.
Finca Jauja ranks among Antigua’s oldest estates—a familial jewel that Stuardo Coto and the Panorama production team are revitalizing alongside the original landowners. Their joint vision: cultivate both yield and quality for generations ahead.
This light roast from Finca Jauja in Antigua, Guatemala offers a bright, fruit-forward cup with a clean finish—a profile shaped by the region’s rich volcanic soil, cool mountain nights, and steady high-altitude winds.
You’ll find notes of red cherry, dried fig, and molasses, with a silky texture and hints of black tea and cacao in the finish. Balanced and elegant, this Bourbon varietal showcases the clarity and sweetness that Antigua coffees are renowned for.
